Terms & Conditions
Last updated: February 2026
1. Agreement
These terms and conditions apply to all work carried out by 9CH Ltd. By instructing us to undertake work, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Quotations
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the information provided and a site visit where applicable. Additional work discovered during the course of works will be quoted separately and requires your approval before proceeding.
3. Pricing
Pricing is either on an hourly basis or as a fixed price per job. The pricing method and rate will be confirmed before work commences. All prices include VAT where applicable. Materials are charged at cost plus a reasonable markup to cover procurement and handling.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payment can be made by bank transfer to the account details shown on the invoice. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover costs already incurred.
6. Access and Preparation
You are responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the work area. Please ensure that the work area is clear of personal belongings and valuables. We will take reasonable care to protect your property but cannot be held responsible for damage to items left in the work area. Please inform us of any specific hazards, vulnerable occupants, or pets before work commences.
7. Scope of Work
We will carry out the work as described in the quotation or as verbally agreed. Any additional work requested will be subject to a separate agreement and pricing. We reserve the right to refuse work that we consider unsafe or beyond our competence.
8. Standards and Compliance
All work will be carried out to a good standard of workmanship and in compliance with applicable building regulations and British Standards where relevant. Electrical work will comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations). We will notify you if we discover work that does not comply with current regulations, but we are not responsible for bringing existing installations up to current standards unless specifically instructed to do so.
9. Warranty
We warrant that work will be carried out with reasonable skill and care. Any defects in workmanship reported within 30 days will be remedied free of charge. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by third parties. Manufacturer warranties on supplied materials remain in force as per the manufacturer's terms.
10. Liability
We maintain public liability insurance of £2,000,000. Our liability is limited to the cost of remedying defective work or, at our discretion, refunding the cost of the defective element. We are not liable for consequential losses, indirect damages, or losses arising from your failure to follow our advice or instructions.
11. Hidden Defects
We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, damage, or issues that are hidden or not apparent at the time of quotation. If hidden problems are discovered during work, we will inform you and provide a quotation for any additional work required.
12. Delays
While we will make every effort to complete work within agreed timescales, we cannot be held liable for delays caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to material supply issues, adverse weather, or access problems.
13. Property Care
We will take reasonable care to minimise disruption and protect your property during works. This includes using dust sheets where appropriate and cleaning up on completion. However, some disruption, dust, and minor marking may be unavoidable during building work.
14. Health and Safety
We operate in accordance with health and safety legislation. Please keep children and pets away from work areas for their safety. If you have any concerns about safety during our work, please raise them immediately.
15. Data Protection
We will handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation. We will only use your information for the purposes of providing our services and maintaining business records.
16. Disputes
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can resolve the matter. We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and promptly. Please refer to our Complaints Procedure for more information.
17. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with reasonable notice. You will be liable for payment for all work completed up to the point of termination, plus the cost of any materials already purchased for your project.
18. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions, together with any quotation or invoice, constitute the entire agreement between us. Any variations must be agreed in writing.
19. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
